Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Luquillo, head southwest on PR-3 (Carretera #3) toward the town of Fajardo. After about 10 minutes of walking, you will reach the intersection with Calle del Parque. Turn left onto Calle del Parque and continue walking until you reach the bus stop. Here you can catch a bus heading to San Juan. The buses will have signs indicating their destination, so look for one that says 'San Juan'.

    Once on the bus to San Juan, enjoy the ride which will take approximately 45 minutes. Make sure to ask the driver to let you know when you reach San Juan Antiguo (Old San Juan). When you get off the bus, you will be on Avenida de la Constitución. From there, head northwest on Avenida de la Constitución until you reach Calle del Morro. Turn left onto Calle del Morro, and the Bastión de San Antonio will be on your right after a short walk.

    If you prefer to walk from a central point in Luquillo, start at the Luquillo Beach area. Head towards the main road (PR-3) and walk towards the bus terminal. Follow the same instructions to catch a bus to San Juan. After reaching San Juan Antiguo, follow the previously mentioned directions to get to Bastión de San Antonio.
