From the city of Râu de Mori, head south on DN66A for approximately 10 km. Follow the signs for Retezat National Park. Upon entering the park, you will find several parking areas near the trailheads. Be sure to check for any parking fees which may apply (usually around 10-20 RON per day).

Public Transportation
Take a bus from Deva or Hateg to Râu de Mori. These buses typically run several times a day and the journey takes around 1.5 hours. Upon arriving in Râu de Mori, you can either walk to the park entrance (approximately 4 km) or catch a local taxi to reach the nearest trailhead. Taxi fares usually range from 20-30 RON.

From the parking area or Râu de Mori, follow the marked trails leading into the Retezat hiking area. Popular starting points include the trail to the Bucura Lake or the trail to the Retezat Peak. Make sure to carry a map as well as enough water and supplies for your hike.
