Getting There

  • Walking

    Start at the main square of Montegiardino, known as Piazza della Libertà. From there, head west on Via della Libertà towards Via del Monte. Continue straight on Via del Monte, which will lead you uphill. You will pass by local shops and small cafés. After approximately 15 minutes of walking, you will reach the outskirts of Montegiardino. Keep following the path as it curves to the left, and you will see signs pointing towards Urbino. Follow the signs for about 20 minutes until you reach the main road. At this point, turn right onto Viale Bruno Buozzi, and walk straight for about 10 minutes. The Fortezza Albornoz will be on your left, easily recognizable by its impressive structure.

    From Montegiardino, walk to the nearest bus stop located at the intersection of Via della Libertà and Via del Monte. Take bus line 47 towards Urbino. The bus ride takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Urbino, disembark at the last stop, which is close to the city center. From the bus stop, walk towards Viale Bruno Buozzi, heading uphill for about 5 minutes. You will see the Fortezza Albornoz on your right side, set against the beautiful backdrop of the surrounding hills.
