Bicycle
From downtown Beaufort, head northwest on Bay Street towards the waterfront. Continue straight onto Charles Street, which will lead you out of the downtown area. Follow Charles Street until you reach the intersection with US-21. Turn left onto US-21 and follow the bike lane along the road. Continue for about 5 miles, passing through sections of the scenic Lowcountry. Once you reach the intersection with Lands End Road, turn right. Fort Fremont Preserve will be located on your left at 1124 Lands End Rd. Look for the entrance signage.

Public Transportation
Start at the nearest bus stop in Beaufort, and board the Route 1 bus heading towards St. Helena Island. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes. You will need to get off at the stop closest to US-21. From there, it is advisable to walk along US-21 heading towards Lands End Road. The distance is about 1 mile, so it’s a pleasant walk through the natural scenery. Upon reaching Lands End Road, turn left, and Fort Fremont Preserve will be on your left at 1124 Lands End Rd.
