    If you are in downtown Beaufort, start at the Beaufort Visitor Center located at 713 Craven St. Walk south on Craven St towards the waterfront until you reach Bay St. Turn left onto Bay St and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Bladen St. Cross Bladen St and continue straight onto the walking path along the waterfront. Follow this path until you reach the intersection with US-21. At this point, you will need to cross over to the other side of the highway where the signs for Charlesfort - Santa Elena Historic Site will guide you. Continue walking straight for about 1 mile. The site will be located on your right, just past the intersection with the dirt road leading to the historic area.
