Getting There

  • Bicycle

    Start your journey at the Beaufort City Hall located at 1911 Boundary St. From there, head south on Boundary St towards Church St. Take a right onto Church St and then a left onto Carteret St. Follow Carteret St until you reach the Waterfront Park. Once at the park, find the bike path that leads you towards the Spanish Moss Trail. Continue on the trail for approximately 11 miles until you reach the intersection with Lands End Rd. Take a left onto Lands End Rd and follow it until you arrive at Fort Fremont Preserve, located at 1124 Lands End Rd, St Helena Island.

  • Walking

    Begin your walk at the Beaufort Waterfront Park. From the park, head towards Bay St and walk along the waterfront until you reach the intersection with Carteret St. Turn left onto Carteret St and continue straight until you reach the Spanish Moss Trail. Follow the trail for about 11 miles. Once you reach the intersection with Lands End Rd, turn left and walk down Lands End Rd until you arrive at Fort Fremont Preserve, which will be on your right at 1124 Lands End Rd, St Helena Island.

    Take the local public bus service from downtown Beaufort to St. Helena Island. Board the bus at the stop located near the Beaufort City Hall.
