    If you're driving from Folly Beach, take Folly Road (SC-171) north towards Charleston. Continue on Folly Road until you reach the intersection with James Island Connector. Merge onto the connector and follow it until it turns into US-17 N. Stay on US-17 N for about 7 miles. Take the exit toward Calhoun St. Merge onto Calhoun St and you will arrive at Historic Downtown Charleston, located on your left.

    To reach Historic Downtown Charleston using public transportation, start by locating the nearest CARTA bus stop. Take the 'Folly Beach / Downtown' route (Route 30) towards downtown Charleston. The bus will take you along Folly Road and then onto the James Island Connector. Stay on the bus until it reaches the 'Calhoun St & Meeting St' stop. From there, walk north on Meeting St for one block, then turn left onto Calhoun St. Historic Downtown Charleston will be on your right.

    If you are coming from Isle of Palms, take SC-517 S to US-17 S. Continue on US-17 S for about 12 miles. Take the exit for Calhoun St. Merge onto Calhoun St and you'll find Historic Downtown Charleston on your left.

    From North Charleston, take I-26 E towards Charleston. Take exit 221B for US-17 S. Continue on US-17 S for about 5 miles. Take the exit for Calhoun St. Merge onto Calhoun St and Historic Downtown Charleston will be on your left.

    If you're in West Ashley, you can take the CARTA bus Route 10 (West Ashley to Downtown) towards downtown Charleston. Ride the bus until you reach the 'Calhoun St & Meeting St' stop. From there, walk north on Meeting St for one block, then turn left onto Calhoun St. You will soon see Historic Downtown Charleston on your right.
