Bus
To reach the Kanawha State Forest Main Office/Gift Shop/Nature Center from downtown Charleston, take the Kanawha Valley Regional Transit Authority (KVRTA) bus number 34 from the downtown bus terminal. Ride the bus for approximately 30 minutes, getting off at the 'Shrewsbury Hollow' stop. From there, walk approximately 0.5 miles up Shrewsbury Hollow Road to the entrance of the Kanawha State Forest. The Main Office will be on your right.

If you're feeling adventurous, rent a bicycle from a local bike shop in downtown Charleston. Head west on Kanawha Blvd until you reach the intersection with Route 60. Follow Route 60 north for about 6 miles. As you approach the forest, take a right onto Shrewsbury Hollow Road and continue for about 1 mile until you reach the Kanawha State Forest Main Office. It's a scenic ride, so enjoy the views along the way!

If you're nearby, you can walk to the Kanawha State Forest Main Office from the Shrewsbury area. Start at the Shrewsbury Park and head north on Shrewsbury Hollow Road. Continue straight for about 1.5 miles until you reach the entrance of the Kanawha State Forest. The Main Office is located just inside the entrance on your right.
