If you are starting from the Charleston City Market, head south on Meeting Street toward South Market Street. Continue walking straight and take a left onto Queen Street. Follow Queen Street until you reach East Bay Street, then turn right. Walk along East Bay Street until you reach the intersection with Broad Street. Turn left onto Broad Street and walk for a few blocks until you reach the intersection with Elizabeth Street. Turn left onto Elizabeth Street, and you will find the Aiken-Rhett House Museum at 48 Elizabeth Street, on your right.

If you prefer to bike, you can rent a bike from one of the local bike rental shops in Downtown Charleston. Once you have your bike, head south on Meeting Street. Then, turn left onto Queen Street and follow the same route as described for walking. Note that some roads may be busier, so be cautious while biking.

For those who want to use public transportation, take the CARTA (Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority) bus. The nearest bus stop is at the corner of Meeting and Market Street. You can take the 'Downtown Loop' bus. Get off at the stop closest to Elizabeth Street. From there, you can walk to the Aiken-Rhett House Museum by heading north on Elizabeth Street, which will take you directly to the museum located at 48 Elizabeth Street.
