If you're starting from the Charleston Visitor Center located at 375 Meeting Street, exit the center and head south on Meeting Street towards Calhoun Street. Continue walking for about 0.5 miles until you reach Calhoun Street. Turn left onto Calhoun Street and walk until you reach King Street. Turn right onto King Street and walk for about 0.3 miles. At the intersection with John Street, turn left. Continue for a short distance, and The Best Friend Train Museum will be on your right at 42 John Street.

From the Charleston Visitor Center, walk to the nearest bus stop located at the intersection of Meeting Street and Calhoun Street. Take the CARTA bus number 10 towards the West Ashley area. Ride for about 10 minutes and get off at the stop near King Street and John Street. After getting off, walk west on John Street for about 0.2 miles, and you will find The Best Friend Train Museum at 42 John Street on your left.
