Getting There

• Walking

  If you're starting from the Charleston Visitor Center located at 375 Meeting Street, exit the center and head south on Meeting Street towards Calhoun Street. Continue walking for about 0.5 miles until you reach Calhoun Street. Turn left onto Calhoun Street and walk until you reach King Street. Turn right onto King Street and walk for about 0.3 miles. At the intersection with John Street, turn left. Continue for a short distance, and The Best Friend Train Museum will be on your right at 42 John Street.

• Public Transit (Bus)

  From the Charleston Visitor Center, walk to the nearest bus stop located at the intersection of Meeting Street and Calhoun Street. Take the CARTA bus number 10 towards the West Ashley area. Ride for about 10 minutes and get off at the stop near King Street and John Street. After getting off, walk west on John Street for about 0.2 miles, and you will find The Best Friend Train Museum at 42 John Street on your left.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the many rental stations around Charleston. Start at the Charleston Visitor Center and head south on Meeting Street. After about 0.5 miles, turn left onto Calhoun Street, then right onto King Street. Cycle for approximately 0.3 miles and turn left on John Street. The museum is located at 42 John Street, just a short distance ahead on your right.
