If you are in downtown Fort Mill, start at the intersection of Main Street and Tom Hall Street. Head southeast on Main Street for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Highway 21 (Cedar St). Turn left onto Highway 21 and continue for about 0.4 miles. When you reach the intersection with I-77, look for the pedestrian access points that lead to the I-77 overpass. Cross over the highway using the designated pedestrian crossing. Once across, you will find the 'Welcome to North Carolina State' sign located just off the side of the highway.

From Fort Mill, head to the nearest bus stop, which is located on Main Street. Take the bus route that heads towards Rock Hill (consult the local bus schedule for exact times). Get off at the stop closest to I-77, which is typically at the intersection with Highway 21. From there, walk about 0.3 miles towards I-77, crossing over to the north side where the 'Welcome to North Carolina State' sign is located. Make sure to follow pedestrian pathways and crosswalks for safety.
