Bus
From Summerville, head to the nearest bus stop and take the CARTA Route 10 towards Charleston. The bus will make stops along the way, including in downtown Charleston. Stay on the bus for approximately 30-40 minutes until you reach the stop at Calhoun St. & Concord St. From there, it's a short 5-10 minute walk to Fort Sumter and Fort Moultrie National Historical Park at 340 Concord St. Just head east on Concord St until you see the entrance.

Bicycle
If you prefer to bike, you can rent a bicycle from a local shop in Summerville. Once you have your bike, take the Ashley River Road (US-17A) south toward Charleston. Follow the signs for the West Ashley area, and then continue on to the Downtown Charleston area. When you reach the waterfront, head east on Calhoun St until you reach Concord St. Turn left, and you will find Fort Sumter and Fort Moultrie National Historical Park at 340 Concord St. The bike ride will take around 1-1.5 hours, depending on your pace.

Walking
If you are feeling adventurous and up for a long walk, you can walk from Summerville to Charleston by heading south down Main St until you reach the intersection with US-17A. Continue on this route toward downtown Charleston. This will take a considerable amount of time (approximately 2-3 hours), so make sure to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated. Once you arrive in downtown Charleston, head towards the waterfront area and follow Concord St until you reach Fort Sumter and Fort Moultrie National Historical Park at 340 Concord St.
