Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from the Lewis and Clark Recreation Area, start by exiting the park and heading northeast on SD-52. Continue on SD-52 for about 7 miles until you reach the intersection with W 2nd St in Yankton. Turn right onto W 2nd St and drive for approximately 1 mile. The Meridian Bridge Plaza will be on your left at the intersection of W 2nd St and Walnut St. Parking is available nearby, but be mindful of any parking fees that may apply.

• Public Transportation

  If you prefer public transportation, check for local bus services that connect the Lewis and Clark Recreation Area to Yankton. Depending on the schedule, you may need to transfer to a different line at the nearest bus stop to the park entrance. Upon reaching Yankton, you can disembark at the stop closest to W 2nd St and Walnut St. From there, it is a short walk to the Meridian Bridge Plaza.   For those who enjoy biking, you can ride from the Lewis and Clark Recreation Area to the Meridian Bridge Plaza. Start by exiting the park and heading northeast on SD-52. There are bike-friendly paths along some sections of the road. Once in Yankton, continue on W 2nd St until you reach the intersection with Walnut St. The plaza will be on your left. Don't forget to wear a helmet and follow local traffic laws while biking.

• Walking

  If you are staying nearby or prefer to walk, you can make your way to Meridian Bridge Plaza from the Lewis and Clark Recreation Area. The walk may take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your pace. Head northeast towards SD-52, then follow it until you reach W 2nd St. Turn left and continue walking for about 1 mile until you arrive at the plaza at the intersection with Walnut St. Wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated!
