Start at the Mount Rushmore National Memorial Visitor Center. Exit the visitor center and head south on SD-244. Continue walking along SD-244 for about 0.6 miles until you reach the intersection with SD-40. Turn right onto SD-40 and continue walking for approximately 2.5 miles. You will see the signs for Rushmore Cave on your left side. The entrance is located at 13622 SD-40, Keystone, SD 57751.
Biking
Begin your journey at the Mount Rushmore National Memorial Visitor Center. Rent a bike from a nearby rental shop if you haven't already. Head south on SD-244 and follow the road for roughly 0.6 miles. At the intersection, take a right turn onto SD-40. Continue biking for about 2.5 miles. Look for Rushmore Cave signs on your left; the entrance is at 13622 SD-40, Keystone, SD 57751.
Public Transportation
From the Mount Rushmore National Memorial Visitor Center, walk to the nearest bus stop for the local shuttle service. Board the shuttle heading towards Keystone. Get off at the Keystone stop and walk east on SD-40 for about 1 mile. Follow the signs for Rushmore Cave; the entrance is located at 13622 SD-40, Keystone, SD 57751.
