Getting There

  • Walking

    From the Mount Rushmore Visitor Center, exit the building and head towards the main pathway leading to the monument. Follow the path that goes uphill, and keep the monument on your right side. Continue walking up the path for about 0.5 miles until you reach the Grand View Terrace. From there, you'll see signs directing you towards the Sculptor's Studio. Follow the signs, and take the left path that leads you down towards the studio area. After a short walk, you will arrive at the Sculptor's Studio, which is located at 13000 SD-244, Keystone, SD 57751.

  • Biking

    If you prefer biking, you can rent a bike at one of the local rental shops in Keystone. Start your ride from the center of Keystone, heading west on SD-244. Follow the road for approximately 2 miles. As you approach Mount Rushmore, you'll see signs for the monument. Continue onto the designated bike path leading up to the Grand View Terrace. Once you reach the Grand View Terrace, follow the walking path to the Sculptor's Studio. The studio is located just off the main path, and you will find signage directing you to it.

Board the shuttle at the Keystone shuttle stop and request to be dropped off at the Mount Rushmore Visitor Center.
