If you have access to a bike, start at the visitor center of Mount Rushmore. Head northwest on SD-244 W and continue for about 1.5 miles. When you reach the intersection with US-16 Scenic, take a left. Biking along US-16 Scenic is not only pleasant but also provides beautiful views of the Black Hills. Continue for approximately 2.5 miles, and you will arrive at Norbeck Overlook. There are bike racks available for you to secure your bike once you get there.
Hiking

From the Mount Rushmore Visitor Center, follow the designated hiking trails that connect to SD-244 W. After about 1.5 miles, you will reach the junction with US-16 Scenic.
