Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving to the National Hangeul Museum from anywhere in the Honam Region, start by getting onto the Gwangju-Jeonnam Expressway (광주-전남고속도로) heading towards Seoul. After approximately 2 hours, take the exit for the Seoul Ring Expressway (서울외곽순환고속도로) and follow signs for the Yongsan District. Once you reach Yongsan District, navigate to Seobinggo-ro. The museum is located at 139 Seobinggo-ro, Yongsan District, Seoul. Parking is available, but be aware that it may incur a fee depending on the duration of your stay.

• Public Transportation (Train)

  To reach the National Hangeul Museum by train, make your way to Gwangju Station (광주역) and take the KTX (Korea Train Express) to Seoul Station (서울역). The journey takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Upon arriving at Seoul Station, transfer to Line 4 (the light blue line) of the Seoul Subway and ride it to Samgakji Station (삼각지역). From Samgakji Station, take Exit 1 and walk straight for about 15 minutes to reach the museum at 139 Seobinggo-ro, Yongsan District. Be sure to purchase your KTX ticket in advance, as prices may vary depending on the time of travel.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  If you prefer to travel by bus, you can take an intercity bus from Gwangju Bus Terminal (광주버스터미널) directly to Seoul. Buses run frequently and the journey takes approximately 3 hours. Once you arrive at the Seoul Express Bus Terminal (서울고속버스터미널), transfer to Line 3 (the orange line) of the Seoul Subway and ride to the Yongsan Station (용산역). From Yongsan Station, take Exit 1 and walk about 10 minutes to reach the National Hangeul Museum at 139 Seobinggo-ro, Yongsan District. Ensure you check the bus schedules to plan your trip accordingly, and tickets can be purchased at the terminal.
