Experience Chiaksan National Park

Getting There

  • Car

    From Seoraksan National Park, get on the Donghae Expressway (also known as the East Coast Expressway) from the park entrance. Follow signs for the expressway towards Gangneung. Continue on the expressway for approximately 30 km until you reach Exit 13 for Wonju. Take this exit and follow the signs for Wonju. After exiting, merge onto National Route 56 and continue for about 20 km until you see signs for Chiaksan National Park. Turn onto the road leading to Hakgok-ri, Socho-myeon, and follow the road until you reach the parking area of Chiaksan National Park. Note that parking fees may apply.

  • Public Transportation

    From Seoraksan National Park, take a local bus to Sokcho Bus Terminal. At Sokcho Bus Terminal, transfer to an intercity bus heading to Wonju. The buses run frequently, and the journey will take about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive at Wonju Bus Terminal, you can take a local bus to Chiaksan National Park. Look for buses marked for Chiaksan or Hakgok-ri; the ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Make sure to check the local bus schedules for the most current timings. A bus fare will be required for each leg of the journey.

    If you prefer a more direct route, consider taking a taxi from Seoraksan National Park to Chiaksan National Park.
