If you are driving from Ampara, head north on the A4 road towards Batticaloa. Follow the signs for Batticaloa and continue for approximately 30 kilometers. Once you reach Batticaloa, look for the Trincomalee Highway (A12) signs. Turn left onto the Trincomalee Highway and continue for about 5 kilometers. Koddaikallar (கோட்டைக்கல்லாறு) will be on your right at 570 Trincomalee Highway. There is parking available nearby.

To reach Koddaikallar by public transport, you can take a bus from the Ampara Bus Station to Batticaloa. The journey should take around 1 to 1.5 hours, and buses typically depart every 30 minutes. Once in Batticaloa, you can catch a local bus or a tuk-tuk to the Trincomalee Highway. Inform the driver that you want to go to Koddaikallar. The fare for the bus from Ampara to Batticaloa is approximately 100 LKR, and the local transport fare should be around 50-100 LKR depending on the distance.

If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a tuk-tuk from anywhere in Batticaloa. Simply tell the driver you want to go to Koddaikallar on Trincomalee Highway. The ride should take around 15 minutes and cost approximately 300-500 LKR depending on your starting point.
