If you are starting from the Anuradhapura Railway Station, exit the station and turn left onto the main road (Sri Maha Bodhi Mawatha). Walk straight for about 1.5 km. You will pass several shops and eateries along the way. Keep an eye out for the large Bodhi tree on your right, which is a famous landmark. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Sri Barathindra Mawatha. Turn right at this intersection.

Continue on Sri Barathindra Mawatha for approximately 600 meters. You will see the Jethawanaramaya Museum on your left. The southern pond is located adjacent to the museum. Look for signs pointing towards the pond, as it is a well-known site among tourists.

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Anuradhapura. Start from your location and head towards Sri Maha Bodhi Mawatha. Cycle straight for about 1.5 km until you reach the intersection with Sri Barathindra Mawatha. Turn right and continue cycling for another 600 meters. The Jethawanaramaya Museum will be on your left, and the southern pond is adjacent to it.
