Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Galle, head towards the Galle Fort. Once you reach the Galle Fort, exit through the main gate and turn right onto the Colombo-Galle Main Road (A2). Continue walking along this road for approximately 2.5 kilometers until you reach the junction with the Panangala Road. Turn left onto Panangala Road and walk for about 1.5 kilometers. You will see signs for Kanneliya Rainforest along the way. The rainforest entrance will be on your right.

  • Tuk-tuk

    Hail a tuk-tuk from anywhere in Galle. Tell the driver you want to go to Kanneliya Rainforest. They will know the location. The ride should take approximately 20-25 minutes, depending on traffic. They will drop you off at the entrance of the rainforest.

  • Bicycle

    You can rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in Galle. Once you have your bike, head towards the Galle Fort. After passing through the fort, pedal along the Colombo-Galle Main Road (A2) for about 2.5 kilometers. After that, turn left onto Panangala Road and continue for another 1.5 kilometers until you find the entrance to Kanneliya Rainforest on your right.
