Car
If you are driving from the center of Hambantota, head southeast on Main Street (A2) towards the Hambantota Port. Continue for approximately 2 km until you reach the intersection with the road heading towards the beach. Turn left onto this road and drive for another 1 km. The Colonial Gallows Tree will be on your right, marked by a small sign. There are no parking fees, but please ensure your vehicle is parked legally.
Public Transportation (Bus)
From the main bus station in Hambantota, take a bus heading towards the beach. Buses are frequent, and the fare is about 30 LKR. Inform the conductor that you want to get off at the Colonial Gallows Tree. The journey should take around 15-20 minutes. Once you disembark, walk back about 100 meters along the road, and you will see the Colonial Gallows Tree on your left.
Tuk-Tuk
For a more local experience, you can hire a tuk-tuk from anywhere in Hambantota. The fare to the Colonial Gallows Tree should be around 200-300 LKR depending on your starting point. Just tell the driver to take you to 'Colonial Gallows Tree' or show them the address: 44CJ+P27, Hambantota. The ride will take about 10-15 minutes depending on traffic.
