Getting There

Walking
From the main entrance of Horton Plains National Park, follow the well-marked trails towards the 'World's End' viewpoint. The path is well-maintained and scenic, with signposts to guide you. After approximately 2 kilometers, you'll reach a fork in the path. Take the left path which leads to Single Tree Hill. The hike to Single Tree Hill from this fork is about 1.5 kilometers and will take you through beautiful landscapes. The trail may be slightly steep in parts, so wear comfortable walking shoes.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle at the park entrance. Follow the main road leading into the park, and then take the same route as pedestrians towards the 'World's End'. When you reach the fork in the trail, take the left path towards Single Tree Hill. This route is suitable for bicycles, but be cautious of steep areas. The ride will take you about 30 minutes from the entrance, depending on your speed.

Private Vehicle
If you are traveling by a private vehicle, drive to the entrance of Horton Plains National Park. After paying the entrance fee (approximately 1,500 LKR for foreigners), park your car at the designated parking area. From there, you will need to continue on foot. Follow the pedestrian trails as mentioned above to reach Single Tree Hill.

Public Transportation
If you are using public transport, take a bus from Nuwara Eliya to the Horton Plains Park entrance. The bus fare is around 150 LKR. Once you arrive at the entrance, pay the entrance fee (approximately 1,500 LKR for foreigners) and then proceed on foot as described in the walking guidance. The total travel time from Nuwara Eliya to the park entrance is about 30-40 minutes.
