If you are traveling by car, start from Jaffna town. Head north on Kandy Road (A9) towards the Urumpirai area. After driving for approximately 20 minutes, turn right onto the Urumpirai Road (AB18). Continue on this road for about 5 minutes until you reach the Nilavarai Natural Underground Water Well, which is located at 46 AB18, Urumpirai North. There is parking available nearby.

To reach Nilavarai by public transport, take a bus from Jaffna town to Urumpirai. Buses frequently depart from the main bus station in Jaffna. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Urumpirai, ask locals for directions to the Nilavarai Natural Underground Water Well, which is approximately a 10-minute walk from the bus stop. The fare is usually around 50 LKR.

For a more convenient option, you can hire a tuk-tuk from anywhere in Jaffna to take you directly to Nilavarai. The ride from Jaffna town will cost around 500-800 LKR, depending on the distance and negotiation with the driver. Ensure to agree on a price before starting your journey.
