Getting There

  • Walking

    From the Jaffna Railway Station, exit onto Station Road and head east. Continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the junction with Kankesanthurai Road (A9). Turn right onto Kankesanthurai Road and walk for approximately 500 meters. You will see Jaffna Fort on your left side. The fort is located along the Jaffna-Ponnalai-Point Pedro Road.

    If you are near Jaffna Clock Tower, head south on Clock Tower Road until you reach the junction with Main Street. Turn left onto Main Street and continue walking straight for about 1 kilometer. After passing several shops and local eateries, you will arrive at the intersection with Jaffna-Ponnalai-Point Pedro Road. Turn right, and Jaffna Fort will be a short walk ahead on your right.

    Starting from the Jaffna Public Library, exit the library and turn right onto Library Road. Walk straight for about 700 meters until you reach the junction with Kankesanthurai Road (A9). Turn left onto Kankesanthurai Road and continue for another 600 meters. Jaffna Fort will be visible on your left as you approach the Jaffna-Ponnalai-Point Pedro Road.

    You can rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Jaffna. Start from the Jaffna Public Library and head south on Library Road. After about 700 meters, turn left onto Kankesanthurai Road (A9). Continue straight for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you reach Jaffna Fort, which will be on your left side along Jaffna-Ponnalai-Point Pedro Road.
