Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Kandy city center, head southwest on Peradeniya Road (A1). Continue for about 5 km until you reach the junction at Buwelikada. Turn left onto the Buwelikada Road and drive for approximately 8 km. You will see signs directing you towards the Nagasthenna Waterfall. Follow these signs for the last 2 km of the journey, which will take you through a narrow, winding road until you reach the waterfall parking area. Note: Ensure your vehicle is suitable for narrow roads.

  From the Kandy bus station, take a bus heading towards Peradeniya. Once you reach Peradeniya, transfer to a local bus that goes to Buwelikada. Inform the bus driver of your destination, Nagasthenna Waterfall, to ensure you get off at the correct stop. After disembarking, you will need to walk about 2 km along the signs leading to the waterfall. The cost for the bus ride should be around 50-100 LKR depending on your distance.

  If you prefer a more direct route without the hassle of public transport, consider using a taxi or a ride-hailing app such as PickMe or Uber. The cost for a taxi from Kandy city center to the waterfall will likely range from 1,500 to 2,500 LKR, depending on traffic and your negotiation skills.   If you are nearby and enjoy hiking, you can approach the waterfall by walking from the nearest bus stop in Buwelikada. The trail is about 2 km long and will take you through scenic views of nature.
