Walking
If you are starting from Matara Railway Station, exit the station and head south on Galle Road (A2) for about 500 meters. You will pass a few shops and restaurants on your left. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with the Nilwala River on your left. At this point, turn left onto the road that runs alongside the river. Keep walking for about 300 meters, and you will see Nilwala Park on your right. The park is located at the coordinates WGWX+MQ7, Matara.

If you are near Matara Bus Stand, walk towards Galle Road (A2) which is about 300 meters away. Once you reach Galle Road, turn left and head south for approximately 600 meters. Look for the intersection with the Nilwala River on your left, then turn left onto the road that goes along the river. Walk about 300 meters, and Nilwala Park will be on your right.
