Walking
If you are in the center of Nuwara Eliya, start at the Nuwara Eliya Post Office. From there, walk towards the main road, and head southwest on the A5 road. Continue straight until you reach the junction with Nelligala Road, which is just past the Lake Gregory area. Turn left onto Nelligala Road and continue on this road for about 4 kilometers. Keep an eye out for signs leading to the Nelligala International Buddhist Centre, located on Shakya Mawatha. You will need to walk uphill for the last part of your journey, so be prepared for a bit of a climb.

Tuk-Tuk
From your location in Nuwara Eliya, find a nearby tuk-tuk stand or ask your hotel to arrange one for you. Once you're in, instruct the driver to take you to Nelligala International Buddhist Centre on Shakya Mawatha. The journey should take around 20-30 minutes. The driver will take the A5 road until the junction with Nelligala Road, then turn left and drive you up the hill to the temple. Make sure to ask the driver to wait for you, as there may not be easy transport options back.

Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Nuwara Eliya. Start from the main market area and head towards the A5 road. Follow the same direction as if you were walking. The route is approximately 4 kilometers uphill, so ensure you have a good level of fitness. Once you reach Nelligala Road, turn left and continue riding until you reach the Nelligala International Buddhist Centre. Be cautious of traffic and take breaks as needed, as the uphill climb can be challenging.
