From the center of Polonnaruwa, head east on the main road (New Town Road) towards the Polonnaruwa Bus Station. Once you reach the bus station, you can catch a local bus heading towards Habarana. Ask the driver to drop you off at the entrance of Minneriya National Park. The park entrance is approximately 20 kilometers from the bus station, and the bus ride will take around 30-40 minutes.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Polonnaruwa. Start by heading east on New Town Road towards the Polonnaruwa Bus Station. From there, continue on the same road for about 20 kilometers to reach Minneriya National Park. The ride will take approximately 1-1.5 hours, so ensure you have enough water and sun protection.
