If you are in the center of Polonnaruwa, start at the Polonnaruwa Archaeological Museum, which is a well-known landmark. From there, walk towards the A11 road, staying on the main road. Continue straight until you reach a roundabout. Take the second exit at the roundabout onto the Giritale Road (B138). Walk along this road for approximately 2 kilometers. You will see signs pointing towards the Wildlife Museum. As you approach, look for the entrance which is located on the right side of the road. The museum is marked with a prominent sign.

Rent a bicycle from a local shop in Polonnaruwa. Begin your journey by cycling towards the Polonnaruwa Archaeological Museum. Upon reaching the museum, follow the same route as the walking guide: head towards the A11 road and continue straight. Once you reach the roundabout, take the second exit onto Giritale Road. The Wildlife Museum will be approximately 2 kilometers down this road on your right-hand side. Look for the sign indicating the museum as you approach.

To reach the Wildlife Museum by tuk-tuk, find a tuk-tuk stand near your location in Polonnaruwa or flag one down on the street. Inform the driver that you want to go to the Wildlife Museum on Giritale Road. The driver will likely know the destination. As you travel, you will pass notable landmarks such as the Polonnaruwa Archaeological Museum. The journey should take around 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic. The museum is located on the right side of the Giritale Road before you reach the Giritale Reservoir.
