Starting from the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, head southeast on the main road towards the Sigiriya entrance. Continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the junction with the Polonnaruwa road. At the junction, turn left onto the Polonnaruwa road and walk for approximately 5 km. You will pass local shops and small eateries along the way. Keep an eye out for local signs pointing towards 'Alahana Piriwena'. After about 20 minutes of walking, you will see a sign for Alahana Piriwena on your right. The ancient Bhikku Hospital is located just off the main road, so take the path leading towards it.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops near Sigiriya. From the Sigiriya entrance, head southeast and take the main road towards Polonnaruwa. Cycle straight for about 6 km. The journey will take you around 25-30 minutes, depending on your pace. Look for the sign for Alahana Piriwena on your right as you approach the junction with the Polonnaruwa road. Once you see the sign, park your bicycle and take the short path leading to the hospital ruins.

For a quicker option, hire a Tuk Tuk from Sigiriya. You can find them near the Sigiriya Rock entrance. Tell the driver you want to go to Alahana Piriwena - Ancient Bhikku Hospital. The ride should take about 15 minutes, covering a distance of 6 km. Once you arrive, the driver can drop you off at the entrance where you will find signs directing you to the hospital ruins.
