Getting There

    If you are driving from Galle, take the A2 highway towards Colombo. After reaching the town of Elpitiya, take the A18 road towards Deniyaya. This scenic drive will take you through beautiful landscapes. Follow the A18 road for approximately 25 km until you reach Deniyaya. Once in Deniyaya, look for signs to Sinharaja Rainforest. The entrance to the rainforest is located just outside the town. Parking is available near the entrance, but it's advisable to arrive early to secure a spot.

    From Galle, you can take a bus to Deniyaya. Buses run frequently from the Galle bus station, and the journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive at the Deniyaya bus station, you can either take a tuk-tuk or walk to the entrance of Sinharaja Rainforest, which is about 3 km away. Tuk-tuk rides typically cost around 300-500 LKR. Ensure to ask the driver to take you to the Sinharaja entrance.

    If you are already in Deniyaya, hiring a tuk-tuk is a convenient option to reach the entrance of Sinharaja Rainforest. You can find tuk-tuks near the bus station or ask your hotel to arrange one. The ride to the rainforest entrance will take around 10-15 minutes and should cost approximately 300 LKR. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand or ask the driver to use the meter.
