For a quicker option, you can take the metro. From any metro station in Södermalm (like Medborgarplatsen), board the green line (line 19) towards Kungsträdgården. The Royal Palace will be to your left as you approach the island. There is a minor cost for the metro ticket, which is approximately 39 SEK (Swedish Krona) for a single journey.
