If you are near the Basel SBB train station, take tram line 8 towards 'Riehen Gartenstadt'. Get off at the 'Rathaus' stop. From there, walk about 5 minutes towards the historical center of Basel. Head east on 'Rathausgasse' and you will see the striking red City Hall building on your left. The History Museum is located within the same complex.

If you are already in the city center, you can easily walk to City Hall - History Museum. Start at the 'Marktplatz', the main square in Basel. From the square, walk towards the red City Hall building which is unmistakable. Once you reach the City Hall, the History Museum is adjacent to it, just inside the same building complex.

You can also take bus line 36 from 'Basel SBB' to 'Rathaus'. The bus stops directly at the 'Rathaus' stop. From there, it is a short walk (approximately 5 minutes) to the City Hall. Just walk east along 'Rathausgasse' and you'll reach City Hall - History Museum.
