    Train

    From Lugano train station, purchase a ticket to Bellinzona. The trains run frequently, approximately every 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Bellinzona station, exit the station and walk towards the main road. Cross the street and head up Via della Stazione. Continue straight until you reach Via Artore. The Castello di Montebello will be located a short walk up the hill on your left.

    Bus

    At the Lugano bus terminal, take line 2 towards Bellinzona. Make sure to check the schedule as buses may not run frequently. Get off at the Bellinzona stop. From there, walk towards the train station and follow the instructions for walking from the train station to Castello di Montebello as detailed above.

    Walking

    If you are already in Bellinzona, you can walk to Castello di Montebello. Start from the center of Bellinzona, head north on Via della Storia, then take a left onto Via Artore. Follow Via Artore as it climbs up the hill; the castle will be visible on your right as you approach.
