Getting There

  • Walking

    From Zermatt railway station, exit the station and head towards Bahnhofstrasse (the main street). Walk straight along Bahnhofstrasse, passing shops and restaurants. Continue until you reach the end of the street, where it turns into the Matterstraße. Follow Matterstraße for about 10 minutes until you reach the bridge that leads to the Zermatt Matterhorn Viewpoint. The viewpoint will be clearly marked and located just before the bridge.

    If you are starting from the Zermatt Church (Kirche Zermatt), head south on Kirchstraße. As you walk, you will see the Matterhorn in the distance. Continue walking down Kirchstraße until you reach the intersection with Bahnhofstrasse. Turn left onto Bahnhofstrasse and follow the previous directions, heading towards Matterstraße to reach the bridge.
