Getting There

Walking
From the center of Iyela, head southwest on Iyela Rd. Continue straight for about 2 kilometers until you reach the junction with Mbalizi Rd. Turn left onto Mbalizi Rd. Keep walking for another 1 kilometer, and you will see the entrance of Mbeya IFISI ZOO on your right. The zoo is a well-signposted location, so you should have no trouble finding it.

Bicycle Rental
If you prefer cycling, there are bicycle rental shops near the Iyela market. Rent a bike for approximately 5,000 TZS for the day. Once you have your bike, follow the same route as for walking: head southwest on Iyela Rd, turn left onto Mbalizi Rd, and continue for about 1 kilometer until you reach the zoo. This will be a faster and more enjoyable way to get there.

Public Transport (Daladala)
You can take a Daladala (local minibus) from Iyela to Mbalizi. Head to the nearest Daladala stop in Iyela, which should be near the market area. Look for a Daladala heading to Mbalizi and board it. The fare is about 1,000 TZS. The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Once you arrive in Mbalizi, ask the conductor to drop you off near the zoo, which is a short walk from the main road.
