Car
If you are driving from the nearest town, Morogoro, head south on the A7 highway towards Iringa. After approximately 200 kilometers, turn onto the road leading to Ruaha National Park. From the entrance of the park, follow the signs towards Ruaha River Lodge, which is located near the banks of the Ruaha River. The drive may take around 4-5 hours from Morogoro, depending on road conditions. Ensure that you have a map or GPS device as the roads can be less marked.

Public Transportation
Take a bus from Morogoro to Iringa, which runs frequently throughout the day. The journey takes about 3-4 hours. Once in Iringa, you will need to hire a taxi or a shared van (daladala) to take you to the entrance of Ruaha National Park. From there, you can arrange for a park vehicle to take you to Ruaha River Lodge. Be prepared for additional costs for the taxi and entrance fees to the park, which typically range from $20-$50 per person.

Upon reaching Ruaha National Park's entrance, you will need to pay an entrance fee (usually $20 for international visitors). It is advisable to pre-arrange a vehicle with the lodge or a local guide to ensure a smooth transfer to Ruaha River Lodge. The lodge is about 30 kilometers from the entrance, and the journey may take approximately 1 hour, depending on the wildlife sightings along the way.
