Getting There

Walking
If you are starting from the Old Fort (Ngome Kongwe) in Stone Town, head east on Gizenga Street towards the sea. Continue until you reach the intersection with Mizingani Road. Turn left onto Mizingani Road and walk along the waterfront. After a short distance, you will arrive at the roundabout. From the roundabout, take the first exit onto Tharia Street. The East Africa Slave Trade Exhibition (Slave Chambers) will be on your right after a few minutes of walking.

If you are at the Forodhani Gardens, exit the gardens and turn left towards the seafront. Walk along the waterfront on Mizingani Road. Continue straight until you reach the roundabout. Take the first exit onto Tharia Street, and after a short walk, the exhibition will be on your right.
