From downtown Gatlinburg, head east on Parkway (US-441) towards the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with East Parkway. Turn left onto East Parkway and follow it as it becomes Little River Road. Keep walking along Little River Road until you reach Metcalf Bottoms. Look for the signs directing you to the Metcalf Bottoms Trailhead. Once you reach the trailhead, follow the Metcalf Bottoms Trail for about 1.5 miles, and you will arrive at Little Greenbrier School.

If you have access to a bicycle, start from downtown Gatlinburg and ride east on Parkway (US-441). After about 0.5 miles, turn left onto East Parkway. Continue riding as East Parkway becomes Little River Road. Travel along Little River Road, which offers beautiful views, until you arrive at Metcalf Bottoms. Look for the Metcalf Bottoms Trailhead where you can lock your bike. From there, hike the Metcalf Bottoms Trail for approximately 1.5 miles to reach Little Greenbrier School.
