If you're starting from downtown Galveston, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops. Head east on Mechanic Street until you reach 25th Street. Turn left onto 25th Street and continue until you reach Seawall Boulevard. Turn right onto Seawall Boulevard and ride along the coast, enjoying the view. Continue riding until you reach the intersection with Settegast Road. Turn left onto Settegast Road and follow it until you arrive at 13117 Settegast Rd, where the Artist Boat Coastal Heritage Preserve is located.

From downtown Galveston, you can take the 'Island Transit' bus service. Board the bus at one of the designated stops and ask the driver for the closest stop to Settegast Road.
