Getting There

  • Bicycle

    If you are starting from the Historic Strand District, head southeast on 20th St toward Postoffice St. Turn right onto Postoffice St and continue until you reach the Seawall. Follow the Seawall east until you reach the intersection with 61st St. Turn left onto 61st St and continue until you reach the intersection with FM 3005 (also known as Termini-San Luis Pass Rd). Turn right onto FM 3005 and continue west. Stay on FM 3005 as it curves around. After about 8 miles, you will reach 13 Mile Rd. Turn right, and you will see the West Galveston Island Historical Landmark ahead.

  • Public Transit (Bus)

    From the Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier, walk to the nearest bus stop on Seawall Blvd. Take the Island Transit bus (Route 1) towards the West End. Stay on the bus for about 30 minutes, and get off at the 13 Mile Rd stop. Walk a short distance down 13 Mile Rd, and you will arrive at the West Galveston Island Historical Landmark.

    If you are located near the Galveston Beach, head west along the beach toward 13 Mile Rd. This may take about 1 hour to walk. Follow the beach until you reach the intersection of 13 Mile Rd.
