From the Old City or any central area, walk to the nearest Songthaew stop, usually found at major intersections. Wait for a red Songthaew heading to Hang Dong or Mae Wang. Once you board, tell the driver you are going to 'Chiang Mai Elephant Home' in Mae Win. The fare should be around 50-100 Baht. The journey will take about 1 hour, and you may need to transfer to another Songthaew at Mae Wang if the direct route is not available.
