From Chiang Mai, head north on Route 107 towards Mae Taeng. Continue for approximately 30 km until you reach the intersection with Route 1095. Turn left onto Route 1095 and follow the signs toward Huai Mae Ka. The lake is located approximately 12 km down this road. There is no entrance fee for Huai Mae Ka, and parking is available nearby.
