Car
If you are driving from Vientiane, head east on Route 13 towards the town of Paksan. Continue on Route 13 until you reach the junction for Route 8. Turn left onto Route 8 and follow it until you reach the town of Thakhek. From Thakhek, continue on Route 12 towards the village of Kong Lo. The road will take you through beautiful countryside and karst landscapes. Upon reaching Kong Lo, look for signs directing you to Tham Kong Lo Cave, which is a short drive from the village center.

Public Transportation (Bus)
From Vientiane, take a bus to Thakhek. Buses leave frequently from the main bus station and the journey takes about 8 hours. Once in Thakhek, you can either take a local bus or a tuk-tuk to the village of Kong Lo. The local bus will drop you off in Kong Lo village. From there, follow the signs to Tham Kong Lo Cave, which is approximately 7 kilometers away from the village center.

Tuk-Tuk
Once you arrive in Kong Lo village, you can hire a tuk-tuk to take you to Tham Kong Lo. The fare is usually around 30,000 to 50,000 LAK (approximately $3 to $5) for a round trip. Make sure to negotiate the price before starting your journey. The tuk-tuk will take you directly to the entrance of the cave.

Walking
If you prefer to walk, from the village of Kong Lo, you can hike to Tham Kong Lo. The trail is approximately 7 kilometers and takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Follow the dirt road that leads to the cave entrance, enjoying the scenic views of the surrounding landscape.
