Getting There

  • Bicycle

    From the center of Masaka, head southwest on Nyendo - Kitovu Road. Ride for about 5 kilometers until you reach the junction with the Mbarara Road (A104). Turn left onto the Mbarara Road and continue riding for approximately 20 kilometers. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to Lake Mburo National Park, which will be on your left. The entrance to the park is about 2 kilometers off the main road.

  • Boda Boda (Motorcycle Taxi)

    Find a nearby Boda Boda stand in Masaka. Inform the rider that you want to go to Lake Mburo National Park. The ride will take you southwest on Nyendo - Kitovu Road for about 5 kilometers. Then, you will turn left onto the Mbarara Road (A104) and continue for approximately 20 kilometers. The entrance to the park will be on your left, 2 kilometers off the main road. Ensure to discuss the fare before starting your journey.

  • Public Minibus (Matatu)

    Head to the Masaka bus terminal and look for a minibus heading to Mbarara or Kabale. Once you get on, confirm with the conductor that they will pass by the entrance of Lake Mburo National Park. The journey will take around 30-45 minutes. When you reach the junction for the park (approximately 20 kilometers down the Mbarara Road), ask the driver to drop you off. From there, you can walk about 2 kilometers to the park entrance.
