Car
From the main entrance of Mount Elgon National Park, head east on the main road towards Mbale. Continue driving for about 20 km until you reach the junction for Budadiri. Turn right and follow the signs for Budadiri. After about 10 km, you will reach the town of Budadiri. Here, you can park your car at a local lodge or designated parking area. The last stretch to Kyakondo Falls is best done on foot.

From Budadiri, take the trail towards the Kyakondo Falls. The hike is approximately 3 km and should take about 1-2 hours, depending on your pace. Follow the well-marked paths and look out for local guides who may offer assistance. Make sure to wear sturdy hiking shoes and carry enough water. The trail leads you through lush vegetation and offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape.

Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, take a matatu (shared taxi) from Mbale to Budadiri. The fare is approximately 5,000 UGX. Once in Budadiri, you can either hire a local guide to take you to Kyakondo Falls or walk the 3 km trail as described above. Be sure to negotiate the fare with the guide beforehand if you choose this option.
