Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Mbale town. Drive towards the Mount Elgon National Park entrance located in Budadiri. Upon reaching the park entrance, you will need to pay a park entry fee (approximately UGX 20,000 for foreign non-residents). After entering the park, follow the main road and look for signs directing you to Bugitimwa. Continue on this road until you reach the coordinates 5F8Q+RC, which is the location of Mudde cave camp, approximately 15 km from the park entrance.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, take a matatu (shared taxi) from Mbale to Budadiri. The fare is approximately UGX 3,000-5,000. Once you arrive in Budadiri, you can hire a motorcycle taxi (boda-boda) to take you to Mudde cave camp. Ensure to negotiate the fare before starting the journey; it should be around UGX 10,000-15,000. The boda-boda will take you directly to the coordinates 5F8Q+RC, Bugitimwa.
Hiking
For those who prefer an adventurous option, you can hike to Mudde cave camp from the nearby trailheads within Mount Elgon National Park.
