Car
If you are driving, start from the main entrance of Mount Elgon National Park. Follow the main road towards the town of Bbale. Once you reach Bbale, look for signs directing you to Bushiyi. Continue on this road for approximately 15 kilometers until you reach the intersection near the village of Bushiyi. Turn left at the intersection and follow the road for another 5 kilometers until you arrive at the Bushiyi Trailhead. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for rough terrain, as the last stretch of road may be unpaved.

To reach Bushiyi Trail by public transport, take a matatu (shared taxi) from Mbale city to Bbale. The journey takes about 30 minutes and costs around 3,000 UGX. Upon arrival in Bbale, you can hire a motorcycle taxi (boda boda) to take you directly to the Bushiyi Trailhead. This ride will cost approximately 10,000 UGX and takes about 15 minutes.
