Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from Fort Portal, head northwest on Rukidi II Road. Continue on the road for about 5 km until you reach the junction with the Kasese-Fort Portal Road (A109). Turn left onto A109 and drive for approximately 12 km. Look for signs to Lake Nkuruba Nature Reserve and Community Campsite, which will be on your right. The entrance to the campsite is clearly marked.

  • Public Transportation

    From Fort Portal, you can take a matatu (shared taxi) heading towards Kasese. The fare is typically around 5,000 UGX. Inform the driver that you are going to Lake Nkuruba. The matatus will drop you off at the junction on the Kasese-Fort Portal Road (A109). From there, you can hire a boda boda (motorcycle taxi) for about 10,000 UGX to take you directly to the campsite entrance.

  • Boda Boda

    If you are already at the junction on the Kasese-Fort Portal Road (A109), you can hire a boda boda to take you the remaining distance to Lake Nkuruba Nature Reserve and Community Campsite. The ride should take about 10-15 minutes and cost around 10,000 UGX. Ensure to negotiate the fare before starting your journey.
